Environmental protection

Modern cotton farming is based not only on productivity, but also on maintaining ecological balance. Today, one of the main goals is also the protection of soil, water and ecosystems. Environmental protection is one of the main conditions for ensuring long-term stability in agriculture.

The Azerbaijan Cotton Producers Association (ACPA) has identified the protection of ecological balance as a strategic priority. The goal is to support farmers in both profitable and sustainable production, and to pass on a healthy and productive natural environment to future generations.

Ecological balance and sustainable production methods in modern cotton farming

Protecting soil and water resources is a key condition for ecological balance in agriculture. To improve soil fertility, farmers should use crop rotation methods and organic fertilizers. This approach not only increases productivity but also ensures the long-term health of the soil. At the same time, the application of modern irrigation systems increases water efficiency, prevents waste, and allows for more effective use of available water resources.

Reducing the use of chemicals is also one of the main goals of modern cotton farming. Limiting the use of pesticides and herbicides helps protect ecosystems from harmful impacts. In addition, applying biological control methods creates opportunities to fight pests in a more natural and safer way.

Promoting biodiversity strengthens ecological stability in agriculture. Establishing agroforestry belts helps prevent soil erosion and protects natural habitats. Growing different crops side by side maintains soil balance, increases productivity, and provides additional benefits for farmers.
