Azersheker LLC, in partnership with Uzbekistan’s Global Textil company, is implementing one of the largest agro-industrial projects in Azerbaijan — the Textile Cluster. The project covers several regions and foresees the creation of 2,400 new jobs. In the field of cultivation, cooperation with farmers specializing in cotton growing in Yevlakh, Aghjabadi, Imishli, Fuzuli, and other districts is planned. At the next stage, cotton processing plants are expected to start operations in Ujar and Aghjabadi.

Over the past year, the economic efficiency of the project has been assessed, and successful tests have been carried out in cotton processing, quality improvement, and cotton cultivation. Construction works are planned to start within the next three months in order to launch yarn production.

The total value of the project is estimated at 104 million USD, of which approximately 80 million USD is allocated to the yarn and fabric production plants. Within the framework of the project, the processing of 40,000 tons of cotton annually and the production of 11,000 tons of yarn are planned. The value chain will extend to the final stage of garment production. This model will enable our country to transform from a raw cotton exporter into a higher-value textile exporter, giving a strong impetus to the stable development of the sector. The project also envisions cooperation with several major European brands and exports to neighboring regions.
