Land and cultivation
Soil is the most essential resource in agriculture, and its fertility and health play a key role in maintaining sustainable productivity. As ACPA, we support soil protection and the application of proper farming practices.
Soil fertility and the application of sustainable farming methods
Protecting soil fertility is one of the main goals in agriculture. Crop rotation reduces pressure on the soil and allows it to recover. The use of organic fertilizers and compost restores the soil’s nutrient balance, while soil testing enables the preparation of proper fertilization plans.
To prevent soil erosion protective forest belts are planted against wind and water erosion. On sloping lands, the use of modern farming technologies that prevent soil washout is also of great importance.
Sustainable farming methods ensure both resource efficiency and higher productivity. Applying water-saving technologies during cultivation and adapting seed selection to modern standards improve agricultural quality. Planting varieties adapted to local conditions strengthens crop stability and sustainability.
Azerbaijan has great potential in this field. Although not yet fully applied across all farms, ACPA supports the development of these methods and plans their broader implementation in the near future. The goal is to protect soil health, ensure the sustainability of cotton farming, and deliver long-term benefits for farmers.
