Main export markets
Currently, a large portion of cotton exports is directed to Turkey, Russia, China, and European countries. Turkey is a key partner for Azerbaijani cotton in both the yarn and textile industries.
Annual export volumes
In recent years, the annual volume of cotton exports has ranged between 100,000 and 120,000 tons. The largest increase was recorded between 2016 and 2020.
New directions
Azerbaijan is also expanding its export potential to South Asia and the Middle East. Countries such as India, Bangladesh, and Egypt are important markets among cotton importers.
